A Clean Energy Regulator investigation has led to 9 charges being laid against a West Australian man for providing false or misleading information.

The Clean Energy Regulator is seeking applications to list product models for version 53 of the register of solar water heaters. Applications for version 53 open from 1 July 2024 and close at 5pm (AEST) on 1 August 2024.

On 11 June 2024, the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) suspended the registration of Greenbot Pty Ltd (Greenbot) under section 30A of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000. Greenbot can no longer create renewable energy certificates (certificates).

We have updated the certificate shortfall register. This follows the 2023 assessment year surrender period for liable entities under the Renewable Energy Target (RET).

Version 51 of the register of solar water heaters came into effect on 24 April 2024 and is now available.

Liable entities must surrender their small-scale technology certificates (STCs) by the Quarter 1 (Q1) 2024 deadline of Monday 29 April 2024.

The agency has approved  Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) as the new installer and designer accreditation scheme operator under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.
