Tips for compliant reporting
Follow these tips to help you submit a compliant NGER report:
- Check the units of measurement before you enter data in EERS. Liquid fuels must be recorded in kilolitres. If your records use a different unit, such as litres, convert the amount to kilolitres first.
- Remember to consider energy production and consumption, including:
- when determining whether you have an obligation to report a facility or corporation
- electricity produced by any new electricity generation infrastructure
- when reporting venting in the oil and gas sector (include the energy content of the vented gas).
- Do not report battery energy storage systems as producing electricity. Report only the energy they consume through conversion losses, storage losses and auxiliary system power use.
- Do not submit reports that contain negative ‘Energy Consumption net’ values for facilities or corporations. If your totals tables show negative values, review and correct your report.
