We’re seeking feedback on our proposed updates to the Guarantee of Origin (GO) Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS).
Updated consultation document – 29 May 2026
Errors were identified in the draft CRIS that affected some cost figures for sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, and scheme revenue estimates. We have now corrected the document and replaced it with an updated version.
To allow extra time for stakeholders to review the updated information, the consultation will now close on 8 June 2026.
Background
The 2025–26 financial year GO CRIS needs updates to include 4 additional products being added to the Product Guarantee of Origin (PGO).
We have proposed a cost recovery approach for these production pathways not covered in the original CRIS:
- hydrogen by solid gasification and pyrolysis
- methane – biogas by anaerobic digestion
- methane – biomethane by biogas upgrading
- bio liquefied petroleum gas (bio LPG).
This update is to incorporate and consult on the new products to the GO Scheme. A few minor changes to functional units and updates to terminology for remissions have also been incorporated for accuracy and consistency with legislation.
We will start our periodic review of all GO cost recovery arrangements separately, starting in the second half of 2026.
