The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (the Department) is preparing to release an update to the Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM) for public use.

The Clean Energy Regulator has extended the consultation deadline for the Draft guidance on meeting the regulatory additionality requirement for the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) until 5PM, Friday 5 June 2020 (AEST).

The Clean Energy Regulator has updated the Operations during COVID-19 page to include guidance on Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) ground-truthing, reporting and auditing during COVID-19 travel restrictions and social distancing requirements.

Some states and territories have expressed a desire for companies to meet their regulatory requirements to reduce emissions by undertaking Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) projects as the ERF provides a robust and established mechanism for carbon accounting and emissions reductions.

The tenth Emissions Reduction Fund auction, held from 25–26 March 2020 contracted more than 1.7 million tonnes of abatement, with 12 carbon abatement contracts awarded.
