The 2020 Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM) update was released today by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER).
The software is used to construct Australia’s national greenhouse gas emissions account for the land sector and must be used to generate abatement estimates for some vegetation method projects in the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF).
These projects are under the Human-Induced Regeneration, Native Forest from Managed Regrowth, Environmental and Mallee Plantings, Avoided Clearing of Native Regrowth, New Farm Forestry and Plantation Forestry methods.
All ERF projects will need to transition to the 2020 FullCAM version, and each method has its own guidance for using FullCAM. We have also developed additional guidance to assist ERF participants to determine when to start using the 2020 FullCAM software version and which option they can use.
