On 7 August 2026, the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) permanently suspended the registration of Emerging Environmental Group Pty Ltd as a registered person under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000.
We took this action because we were no longer satisfied that Emerging Environmental Group Pty Ltd was a fit and proper person for the purposes of the Act. As a result, the company is no longer permitted to create renewable energy certificates under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).
Under the Act, Emerging Environmental Group Pty Ltd has the right to seek an internal review of this decision within 60 days of being notified.
Registered agents and their executive officers play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the SRES. Registered agents must remain fit and proper persons and are required to notify the CER of any material change in circumstances that may affect their fit and proper person status.
We will continue to monitor participants and act where we identify concerns relevant to a person's continued eligibility to participate in our schemes. This includes associations with individuals or entities that have previously been found not to be fit and proper persons, or whose participation in CER-administered schemes has been suspended.
