The Guarantee of Origin is a cost-recovered scheme. This means you’ll pay assessment fees and a yearly facility charge.
To learn more about our fees and charges, read our Guarantee of Origin Cost Recovery Implementation Statement.
Fees
The fees for REGO activities were determined through the Cost Recovery Impact Statement process. For the 2025–26 financial year, they’ve been aligned with fees under the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target. The scheme is intended to be fully cost recovered, so fees will be based on the anticipated expenses required to run the GO Scheme when it’s fully operational.
These fees are set in the Future Made in Australia (Guarantee of Origin) Rules 2025.
You’ll pay each fee when you submit the application. We won’t start assessing your application until you’ve paid.

Charges
The charge you pay for each facility is based on cost-recovering the scheme.
Usually, you’ll pay a charge at the start of each financial year. If your facility is only registered for part of the financial year, you only have to pay part of the charge. However, the annual charge is waived for the first year of the scheme: financial year 2025–26.
