The Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, the Hon Angus Taylor MP, has appointed Ms Kate Vidgen as a new Member of the Clean Energy Regulator Board.
Ms Vidgen brings to the role a wealth of knowledge in the Australian energy sector, particularly her expertise in energy transition.
Ms Vidgen is currently the Global Head of Energy Principal at Macquarie Capital which has seen her overseeing a number of development projects in the hydrogen and green ammonia industry, carbon capture and storage and renewable fuels.
Kate will continue her three-year term to 2024.
The Regulator Board is the decision-making body for the Clean Energy Regulator consisting of a Chair and other Members. The Regulator Board is responsible for determining the agency's strategic objectives and policies which underpin its operation and performance to ensure it functions effectively.
Members of the Clean Energy Regulator are appointed by the Minister under the Clean Energy Regulator Act 2011 and are required to have substantial experience or knowledge in fields relevant to the Clean Energy Regulator. All Members hold office on a part-time basis.
