The Clean Energy Regulator is moving the REC Registry to a single sign-on solution. This means from September 2020 you will be able to access all your REC Registry accounts using a single login.

What is single sign-on?

Single sign-on allows you to sign into the Clean Energy Regulator’s systems using your email address instead of the different usernames that you have previously used. People who use the same email address for multiple REC Registry accounts will be able to access all their accounts using the one email address.

This means less usernames and passwords for you to remember and the Clean Energy Regulator can better protect your information and access to your accounts.

Each person must have a unique email address

For Single sign-on to work each person is required to have a unique email address.

If you currently share an email address with another person/s, all of you will need to update your email address so that each person has a unique email address. If this is not completed, once Single sign-on goes live you will not be able to access the REC Registry and will need to contact the Clean Energy Regulator for access.

Examples of shared email addresses include:

  • Family members who are users of the same account for REC Registry, but have supplied a shared email address (e.g. Mr and Ms Smith, but both use the same email address, MMSmith@email.com), or
  • Multiple employees of a company who are users within the same REC Registry account. Each of the individual users are associated with the same generic email address (e.g. admin@company.com).

If you are identified as a person who may be sharing an email address, the Clean Energy Regulator will contact you directly with instructions on how to update your email prior to the rollout of Single sign-on.
