Under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001, the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) can nominate an organisation to approve solar panel and inverter modules. This will determine which solar panels and inverters are eligible to receive small-scale technology certificates and will list these products on their website.

As part of its application evaluation process for a solar panel and inverter product listing body, the CER proposes to nominate the Clean Energy Council (CEC) as the solar panel and product listing body under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES).

A 28-day submission period is now open for any person affected by the proposed nomination. Submissions must be made by 5 pm AEST 11 August 2024.

To read the proposal and make a submission, please visit our consultation webpage.

Submissions will be considered by the CER before a final nomination decision is made.

If a final nomination is made, the CER will set a transition period. We will continue to provide updates through email and on our rooftop solar sector reforms page. Please ensure you subscribe to receive our latest email updates.

Until a final nomination is made, the CEC will continue to publish the approved solar panel and inverter lists.
