We undertake activities to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000.

In the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, these activities range from extensive automated checks and the validation of claims via supporting documentation through to investigations and enforcement action.

Under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001, we may declare a person or product ineligible to participate in the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme. We may also make a declaration in conjunction with other compliance or civil/criminal action.

A declaration means:

  • for an installer, any small generation unit (typically solar panel and battery systems) installed by that person will not be eligible to receive small-scale technology certificates (STCs).
  • for a retailer, any small generation units (typically solar panel and battery systems) retailed by them will not be eligible for STCs
  • that an inverter, panel or battery is not eligible for STCs.

Declarations

We publish all current and expired declarations under our compliance policy for education, monitoring and enforcement activities. The below list of installers, retailers and products includes all declarations, including the period they are ineligible to participate in the scheme.
