The Australian National Registry of Emissions Units (ANREU) is an online system that allows international emission units established through the Kyoto Protocol to be held, traded and cancelled.
The Kyoto Protocol requires Australia to:
- maintain a list of entities authorised by the Australian Government to participate in international emissions trading
- make the list of authorised entities available through ANREU
- make certain information publicly available
- provide a publicly accessible user interface online that allows people to query and view the information.
Personal information of ANREU account representatives is confidential and will not be published. This information includes:
- identification numbers
- names
- addresses
- email, phone and fax numbers.

Account alterations
We may make alterations to ANREU to correct clerical errors.
The last alterations were done in 2017. In both cases the account holder name and account name were updated to reflect the participant's correct legal name.
