2020 FullCAM update coming soon

The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (the Department) is preparing to release an update to the Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM) for public use from 1 September 2020. FullCAM is used to construct Australia’s national greenhouse gas emissions account for the land sector and must be used for some vegetation method projects in the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF).

The Australian carbon market and COVID-19

The Clean Energy Regulator is aware of calls from some stakeholders for an additional Commonwealth government purchasing event to support the Australian carbon market in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Clean Energy Regulator has carefully considered whether there is a need for additional support before the next auction in September and is inclined to the view there is not a compelling case to intervene at this time.

Guidance on ERF ground-truthing, reporting and auditing during COVID-19 restrictions now available

The Clean Energy Regulator has updated the Operations during COVID-19 page to include guidance on Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) ground-truthing, reporting and auditing during COVID-19 travel restrictions and social distancing requirements.

We remain open for business and committed to maintaining normal business operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
