The Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency (CERT) report is a voluntary initiative that shares the emissions-related commitments of some of Australia's largest and most well-known companies.
The CERT report details a company's net emissions position, renewable electricity use, carbon offsets and progress towards their emissions-related commitments.

About the CERT report
The CERT report presents a company's key emissions-related information in one place.
The standardised framework improves transparency by allowing all stakeholders to review and compare progress on commitments towards decarbonisation.
The CERT report also helps to hold companies accountable for their public commitments. Participating companies have an obligation to provide accurate data and information for their CERT report.
We work closely with other Australian Government regulators to report concerns about companies misreporting their green credentials. This includes the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
Participating in the CERT report
Voluntary action by businesses to reduce net emissions is gaining momentum. Investors, regulators and the public are also interested in the progress businesses are making towards decarbonisation.
Participating in the CERT report will allow your company to share its emissions-related commitments and your progress towards achieving them.
Participation is open to all companies reporting more than 50 kilotonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e) emissions per year under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme.
The future of the CERT report
The Australian Government recently passed legislation mandating companies report on their climate-related risks and opportunities as part of their annual financial reports.
As demand for climate-related information grows, we will continue to engage with eligible companies, industry associations and other stakeholders to evolve the CERT report.
