The enhancing native vegetation method is now available under the Nature Repair Market scheme.

This is the second method under the Nature Repair Market and expands the types of projects that can participate. It supports projects to restore, enhance or maintain native ecosystems, including forests, woodlands, shrublands and grasslands.

Projects can:

  • enhance remnant native vegetation
  • improve conditions and protect habitat for threatened species and ecological communities
  • maintain native vegetation in moderate to high condition
  • restore degraded areas.

Activities may include environmental planting, facilitated regeneration, and pest, weed and grazing management. Project activities will be informed by the condition and characteristics of the project area.

The method provides a pathway for voluntary biodiversity projects. Eligible projects may also seek to be registered as offset-capable.

Registering a project as offset-capable is optional and does not guarantee that it will be found suitable for use as an environmental offset.
