We’ve identified an IT issue following an update to the REC Registry on Thursday 25 June 2026. This has resulted in duplicate certificates being created in REC Registry for some Renewable Energy Target (RET) participants.
REC Registry is currently unavailable and has been since 4:30 pm Tuesday 30 June 2026. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible to ensure the integrity of certificates under the RET.
If you have urgent contractual or legislative obligations affected by this outage, please contact us. This includes those affected by end of financial year obligations.
For all other enquiries, please monitor this page for regular updates.
We’ll update this page each business day until the issue is resolved.
Current status update
3 pm 3 July 2026 – REC Registry is currently unavailable for all users while we work to resolve the IT issue. At this stage we don’t anticipate the system will be available over the weekend. We’ll provide an update on timing next week.
Impacts on participants
While REC Registry is unavailable, participants:
- won’t be able to submit applications or complete any transactions – at this time we can't complete any REC Registry transactions on your behalf
- may still receive notifications about existing certificate applications as this issue doesn’t impact existing applications.
There are no security concerns as part of this issue, please be reassured that account information is safe.
We understand this outage impacts many participants across the RET scheme. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve it as quickly as possible.
