The Clean Energy Regulator’s (CER) 2023–24 Annual Report was tabled in Parliament today by Minister for Climate Change and Energy, the Hon Chris Bowen MP.
The report describes the CER’s activities and performance against targets set in our Corporate Plan 2023-27 and the Portfolio Budget Statements 2023–24. It provides analysis on how the CER is achieving its purpose: to accelerate carbon abatement for Australia.
Highlights
Highlights include:
- Carbon abatement associated with the schemes we administer continued the record of new highs, achieving an estimated 69 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e), up from 62.2 million tonnes in 2022–23.
- A record 187.7 million ACCUs were issued
- We successfully transitioned 95.7% of the 9,400 accredited small-scale system installers and designers across Australia to transfer their accreditation to SSA by the 29 May 2024 deadline.
- 97.2% of participants complied with scheme reporting obligations, including 100% compliance with the Safeguard Mechanism arrangements.
- 95% of survey respondents were satisfied with the quality and timeliness of our market information
- We unveiled our new website. With a design informed by research with our stakeholders, the website is easier to navigate and understand.
