The Clean Energy Regulator’s 2020-21 Annual Report was tabled on 27 October 2021 in the Australian Parliament by Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction Angus Taylor.
The report captures our key achievements including:
- Carbon abatement from the schemes we administer continues to rise, exceeding 56 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
- 16.5 million Australian carbon credit units were issued under the Emissions Reduction Fund.
- The Renewable Energy Target has not acted as a cap on renewable investment – rather, the market has maintained investment levels with 5.2 gigawatts total renewable capacity installed in 2020-21 – 2.2 gigawatts large-scale and 3 gigawatts from rooftop solar.
The report also outlines our performance against our purpose and objectives, our financial standing and the management of our people.
