The Clean Energy Regulator welcomes Mr Charles Kiefel AM.
The Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, the Hon Angus Taylor MP, has appointed Mr Charles Kiefel AM as a new member of the Clean Energy Regulator Board.
He is the chairman of The Principals Funds Management, a private company focused on the wholesale investment sector.
Mr Kiefel’s extensive commercial experience includes financial advisory and asset management in Australia, London and New York.
He is also a former managing director of corporate finance at the ANZ Investment Bank. For 10 years, from 1997-2007, Charles was the Chairman of the Military Superannuation and Benefits Board of Trustees No 1.
Mr Kiefel’s three-year term will continue until 2024.
The Regulator Board is the decision-making body for the Clean Energy Regulator and comprises a Chair and members. The Regulator Board is responsible for determining the agency's strategic objectives which underpin its operation and performance to ensure it functions effectively.
Members of the Clean Energy Regulator are appointed by the minister under the Clean Energy Regulator Act 2011. They are required to have substantial experience or knowledge in fields relevant to the Clean Energy Regulator. All members hold office on a part-time basis.
