July Large-scale Renewable Energy Target market data now available
The Clean Energy Regulator has released the July 2020 Large-scale Renewable Energy Target market data.
Highlights include:
- Nine power stations were accredited in July with a combined capacity of 9.5 megawatts (MW).
- The 6 MW Zenith Energy Solar Project, located at the Nova Nickel mine in Western Australia was accredited this month. The solar array integrates with an exiting diesel power station and will assist in reducing both costs and emissions.
- Three of the power stations accredited this month (totalling 750 kilowatts) are solar arrays installed by the Goulburn Valley Water (GVW). These arrays form part of GVW’s PV project to install approximately 1.9 MW of solar capacity to reduce emissions across their facilities.
- McCain Foods announced construction of a 7 MW behind the meter solar array at their Ballarat food processing facility. The solar array forms part of a 8.2 MW project that also consists of a co-generation anaerobic digester that will produce biogas from food waste. The project is expected reduce the company’s energy consumption by 39 per cent.
