The Clean Energy Regulator (the agency) is developing a new serial number ledger (the ledger) capability, to strengthen the integrity of the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and the solar industry. The ledger is scheduled for implementation in early 2021.

We are conducting a consultation with stakeholders and seeking your feedback on the proposed upload mechanism and solar panel serial number data format for the ledger. Further information regarding the agency’s ledger may be found on our website.

The consultation document includes information regarding:

  • the agency’s proposed mechanism for SPV verification service providers and Australian solar panel manufacturers/importers to provide serial number data to the ledger
  • the agency’s proposed format and frequency of serial number data to the ledger
  • a template feedback form for stakeholders for submissions to the agency’s ledger consultation.

The agency will also host two webinars to brief about the ledger and this consultation on the following dates:

  • 11am, Friday, 18 December 2020
  • 11am, Thursday, 14 January 2021

See our Events for more details about the webinars and how you can register. If there is interest and sessions fill up quickly, we may offer another time slot for stakeholders to participate in a webinar.
