The Clean Energy Regulator has released the Quarterly Carbon Market Report – March Quarter 2021. The report provides market information on the 3 markets administered by the Clean Energy Regulator – the large-scale generation certificates, small-scale technology certificates and Australian carbon credit unit markets.
The 2020 Renewable Energy Target Annual Statement – Large-scale Renewable Energy Target met has been tabled in the Australian Parliament today. As the 2020 target has been met, this is the last annual statement to Parliament on progress towards the Renewable Energy Target.
The Clean Energy Regulator is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) to accelerate the emergence of an exchange traded market for emissions offsets, in effect an Australian carbon exchange. The exchange will make the trading of Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs) simpler, supporting rapidly increasing voluntary demand from the corporate sector.
