Safeguard reforms now law

The Clean Energy Regulator's (CER) Quarterly Carbon Market Report (QCMR) for Quarter 1 (Q1) 2023 has been released and covers landmark reforms to the Safeguard Mechanism.

The reforms will reduce emissions from Australia’s largest emitting facilities by a total of 201 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents by 2030.

2021–22 National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting emissions and energy data now available

The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) has released the 2021–22 National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) data.

Each year, Australian corporations that meet certain thresholds are required to report their emissions and energy information to us. This data helps inform government policy and programs and meet Australia’s international reporting obligations.

Six new companies join the Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency (CERT) report for 2023

The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) welcomes 6 new companies to the 2023 Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency (CERT) report, following the successful pilot last year.

The 2023 CERT report will include 26 large Australian companies. Together, these companies represent 21 per cent of scope 1 emissions reported to the CER in 2021-22.
