The Clean Energy Regulator is introducing a new way to login. On 27 June 2022 you'll need to set up a 2-step login process known as multi-factor authentication (MFA). We recommend you make sure your account details are up to date before this change.

MFA is one of the most effective ways to protect against unauthorised access to your valuable information and accounts. We've made this change to enhance the security of our systems as recommended by the Australian Cyber Security Centre.

What does this mean for you?

From 27 June 2022, we'll ask you to set up the login process with your preferred details. This means each time you login to our systems you will need to use:

  • your password
  • a unique code we send to you by text, call or email.

Using automated processes

If you or your organisation use an automated process with our systems and you think MFA will impact you, please contact us. We can help you through the transition until we find a solution.

What systems are affected?

All our system logins will be updated. This includes:

  • Australian National Registry of Emissions Units (ANREU)
  • Emissions and Energy Reporting System (EERS)
  • Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Registry
  • Client Portal
  • Inspections Portal.
