Guarantee of Origin discussion papers now live

Discussion papers outlining the proposed policy design for the Guarantee of Origin scheme are now live and open for feedback.

The Guarantee of Origin (GO) scheme would provide a mechanism to track and verify emissions associated with hydrogen and could be expanded to include a range of other products made in Australia. It would also provide an ongoing mechanism for renewable electricity certification.

Quarterly Carbon Market Report highlights uptick for household energy systems

The Clean Energy Regulator's (CER) September Quarterly Carbon Market Report (QCMR) highlights the start of increasing rooftop solar PV installations from August, paving the way for a boost to small-scale renewables going into Q4.

According to the report, an estimated 729 megawatts (MW) of small-scale PV capacity was installed this quarter, an improvement from the first half of the year and almost back to the Q3 record level seen in 2021.

Applications open in second pilot window for ERF fixed delivery exit arrangement

The second pilot window for the fixed delivery exit arrangement is now open. Exit applications can now be made for Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) deliveries scheduled from 1 July 2022 to 31 December 2022.

This window continues the pilot of the exit arrangements and the Government will further consider its future use in light of the final Safeguard Mechanism design and the Independent Review of ACCUs.
