The 'Validations' tab consists of a series of real-time automated messages designed to aid compliant reporting in EERS.

1. Errors

Items that appear under the 'Errors' heading will disable the ability to generate and submit an NGER report until these errors are corrected. To correct an error, click on the hyperlink below the error item and you will be directed to the relevant location within the 'Data Entry' tab to make the necessary corrections. The error item will disappear from the 'Validations' tab if you have successfully corrected the error. All error items must be corrected to enable report submission.

2. Warnings

Items that appear under the 'Warnings' heading will disable the ability to submit an NGER report until they are corrected for or acknowledged. There may be several instances of the one warning. To correct for an instance of a warning, click on a hyperlink below the warning item to be directed to a relevant location within the 'Data Entry' tab to make the necessary corrections. The instance of the warning will disappear from the 'Validations' tab if you have successfully corrected for the warning.

Alternatively, you can acknowledge the instance of the warning. Acknowledging the warning item means that you understand the warning, but it is not applicable in this particular case. For instance, if you report the production of electricity from thermal generation, the warning will direct you to include the fuel combustion that leads to that thermal generation. If the thermal generation is not attributable to fuel combustion or any other source included under section 1.10 of the Measurement Determination, the instance of the warning is not applicable and can be acknowledged.

To acknowledge a warning, click the 'Acknowledge' button and select the 'Acknowledge' checkbox in the new window. Comments can be entered in the window's free-text field to help explain your decision to not correct for the warning item. If you wish to disclose these comments to the Clean Energy Regulator alongside your NGER report submission, select the 'disclose' checkbox and then click save. You can change these decisions or comments at any time by re-clicking the 'Acknowledge' button (which may also appear as 'Undo Acknowledgement').

If you have many instances of the one warning, the 'Acknowledge All' or 'Disclose All' buttons can be used to address all instances of the warning.

All warning items must be corrected or acknowledged to enable report submission.

Please note no acknowledged warnings or comments will appear in your submitted NGER report. You can view a separate validations report containing your acknowledged warnings and comments in the 'Reports' tab, but only after submission.

3. Information

This section will contain real-time information on what corporate group or facility reporting thresholds have been breached, if any. It will also notify you if no activities have met the uncertainty reporting threshold.
