In February 2024 we expect to announce a new accreditation scheme operator (ASO) to administer the accreditation of installers and designers under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.
All accredited installers and designers must transfer to the new ASO within 3 months from the February announcement to remain eligible for small-scale technology certificates (STCs).
To complete this transfer and maintain your accreditation, you will need to complete a simple online form on the new ASO’s website and provide the following information:
- name, address and contact details
- business details including ABN/ACN (as applicable)
- proof of identification (for example, driver’s licence)
- current electrical licence number (if you hold grid-connect install accreditation)
- current Clean Energy Council (CEC) accreditation number and expiry date
- current picture of yourself (a selfie is acceptable)
- any information on outstanding compliance or rectification works.
Once submitted, the new ASO will assess the information and issue a new accreditation number to use when claiming STCs.
Applications to transfer are expected to be completed in 5-10 business days. Accreditations that expire during the transition will be prioritised by the new ASO.
Before transferring to the new ASO, you should:
- confirm your CEC accreditation expiry date
- abide by the CEC’s application cut-off dates appropriate to your accreditation situation
- promptly respond to any requests for further information
- ensure your contact details are up to date in the CEC portal, and retrieve any relevant documents or information
- address any outstanding compliance actions or rectification work
- subscribe to receive our email updates.
The CEC will cease their accreditation services when the decision is announced. If you are unable to meet the CEC application cut-off dates, you will need to apply to the new ASO.
We continue to work closely with the CEC and the new ASO to achieve a smooth transfer and support installers and designers to prepare for the change.
