Public consultation is now open for feedback on the design of the 2023 Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency (CERT) report.
As we finalise the guidelines for the 2023 report, before opt-ins open in November this year, there are some areas we'd like to hear from you about which aim to make it easier to participate.
We are seeking feedback on key aspects of the report, including:
- Independent assurance of commitments and supporting information.
- Jurisdictional surrenders of large-scale generation certificates.
- Updating the Residual Mix Factor used to calculate Scope 2 emissions.
Feedback will help inform the design of the next CERT report, which will open for opt-ins in November 2022.
The release of the 2022 Corporate Emissions Reduction Transparency (CERT) pilot report included 23 Australian companies and was a major step forward in voluntary climate-related reporting.
The intent of the pilot was to test the reporting framework and guidelines, and to evaluate how it could evolve over time.
Submissions close 5 pm AEST on 26 September 2022.
