The Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) Auction 14 will be held on 5 and 6 April 2022. To make sure you don’t miss out, you need to submit your project registration application by 11:59 pm, Tuesday 15 February 2022 (AEDT).

Only project registration applications received by the deadline will be eligible to participate in the auction. If you are unable to make this deadline, your project may still be eligible to participate in future auctions, however, you will not be eligible for the funding on offer as part of Auction 14.

Why should I participate in Auction 14?

Auction 14 can provide you with an opportunity to secure a Commonwealth contract for your Australian carbon credit units (ACCUs). Optional delivery contracts will be offered which can help you manage investment risks by giving you access to a long-term set-price for your ACCUs and the choice to sell carbon offsets to either the Commonwealth or other buyers if you can receive a higher price.

Fixed delivery contracts will not be offered at Auction 14

After the introduction of optional delivery contracts in March 2020, there has been little demand for fixed delivery contracts. The proportion of abatement secured at auctions through fixed delivery contracts was only 1% of the volume contracted in 2021. At Auction 13 held in October 2021, no fixed delivery bids were accepted. The volumes bid for fixed delivery were also limited. The carbon market is therefore evolving in a way that suggests there is little appetite for fixed delivery contracts and optional delivery contracts are preferred. For this reason, fixed delivery contracts will not be offered at Auction 14.
