A new Carbon capture and storage (CCS) method is now available under the Emissions Reduction Fund.
A CCS project involves capturing, transporting and injecting greenhouse gases into permanent underground storage. It gives businesses the opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from industrial processes and earn Australian carbon credit units.
The greenhouse gases captured would have otherwise been released into the atmosphere.
The new CCS method came into effect on 29 September 2021.
Under the method, all projects will have a 25-year crediting period.
To apply to register a project under the new method please submit an application through the Client Portal.
See the CCS method page or contact us for more information.
