On Thursday 2 April 2020, the Clean Energy Regulator will release a new feature in the REC Registry to make it easier for nominated persons to claim Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGC).
This enhancement will allow nominated persons to create LGCs for multiple power stations, across multiple generation months, in a single claim. The declaration and response to standard validation questions will cover all generation across the single LGC claim. This will introduce significant time-savings, particularly for nominated persons with many power stations or making claims across several months in one go.
New guidance will be published on our website with the release of these updates.
Entering generation data changes
While the LGC creation process will be streamlined through this enhancement, the generation data (e.g. TLEG, AUX, FSL) still needs to be entered separately for each power station. However, the Clean Energy Regulator is separately working on enhancements to optimise this area through the use of third-party data sources (e.g. AEMO, metered data providers and solar irradiance data). In future, this step in the LGC creation process may be automated.
Further information on these changes will be provided when this functionality is being delivered later this year.
REC Registry outage
The REC Registry will be unavailable between 7 – 10 pm AEST on Thursday 2 April 2020 to deliver the LGC bulk creation enhancement.
